1. Skyway Range Executive Director Search

The Board of Directors of Skyway Range, Inc. is searching for an inaugural executive director to oversee the launch, scale and ongoing operation of Skyway Range.

Skyway Range mission is to make drone testing more accessible to all. It is located in northeastern Oklahoma with a 114 nautical mile perimeter and 1200 square miles of diverse urban/rural testing conditions. Skyway Range offers UAS and AAM companies the flexibility to innovate, demonstrate safety, security, and performance under various conditions.

The Skyway Range Executive Director role offers the right candidate the opportunity to shape the vision of Skyway Range and play a pivotal role in the growth of a nationally-recognized innovation ecosystem in the Tulsa region.

2. State of Oklahoma has issued a statewide contract RFP for ‘delivery of radar, detect and avoid equipment, and services for reporting to the FAA.'

The State of Oklahoma has issued an RFP. The Purpose for this project is to enable UAS operations and airspace management without visual observers through the use of the Radar and Other hardware systems including detect-and-avoid system and related sensors. See RFP for full details.

Bids are due 05/08/2024 03:00 PM CST.

3. AUVSI partnership with Oklahoma organizations to expand cybersecurity certification for commercial drones

The Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) and Fortress Information Security announced a partnership with Oklahoma State University, The University of Tulsa, and Tulsa Innovation Labs to enhance cybersecurity programs for commercial drones by expanding the accessibility of the Green UAS program . In addition to widening the certification pathway, this collaboration also paves the way for groundbreaking research and workforce development opportunities at the intersection of cybersecurity and autonomous systems.

4. Drone Response and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce Announce Partnership at AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2024

Drone Response is partnering with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce to establish a cutting-edge software development and engineering testing lab in Oklahoma. The facility, which will open in fall 2024, will boost Oklahoma's contribution to drone, UAV, AAM, and UTM technologies. The collaboration, leverages Oklahoma's robust partner and academic ecosystem, aims to stimulate economic growth, attract local investment, and foster a vibrant research and development environment.
