Oklahoma Women in Aviation and Aerospace Day
Saturday, Dec 8, 2023, at 137th Special Operations Wing at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City
Oklahoma Women in Aviation and Aerospace Day is an annual event to advance STEM and aerospace career awareness in the minds of policymakers, students, the citizens of Oklahoma, and to the national aviation and aerospace industries. This yearly event also commemorates Oklahoman Pearl Carter Scott, who, at 13, was the youngest woman to receive her pilots license in the United States; received pilot training from Wiley Post; later became a performing stunt pilot; and was a member of the Chickasaw nation legislature.
This year's event will be on December 8th, 2023, at the 137th Special Operations Wing at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City. The program features Heather "Lucky" Penney as the keynote speaker and that Col. (Ret) Eileen Collins will accept the appointment as the 2023 Woman of the Year.
