Come out to the University of Tulsa Campus on April 14th for the Second Annual Green Country Unmanned Aircraft System Competition.

The goal of this competition is to demonstrate the ability of participating teams in fulfilling a popular civil application of UAVs with quick commercialization potential.
Student teams from a variety of universities and high schools, will try to conquer a package delivery obstacle course, competing for cash prizes and ultimate bragging rights. We hope you can make it out to support these amazing innovators and next gen UAS experts.

Unmanned aerial systems (UAS) are becoming common and useful tools for surveillance, providing visible or non-visible sensing of remote or dangerous areas, as well as performing many other tasks. Primary designs are either fixed-wing or rotary-wing. The benefits of the former are speed, coverage area, payload capacity, and ease of operation. Benefits of the latter are hover capability and maneuverability. Navy researchers have combined these two operating modes into one platform to leverage the advantages of both.

The University of Tulsa Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is planning an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) competition on the TU campus August 25-28 2017. UAV systems are effective in recruiting middle and high school students to fields related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The industrial applications of UAV systems continue to expand, and TU is home to innovative UAV research.
