Airborne deployment of an autonomous underwater vehicle
NSWC Panama City
Autonomous underwater vehicles, sometimes called underwater drones, are typically deployed from a ship via a davit or crane. The drawback of ship deployment is that the AUV's operating range is restricted to a short distance from the boat. This makes it a tedious and time-consuming task when using AUV's in searching large areas beyond the range of the AUV. However, if an AUV could be deployed from an Unmanned Aerial System (flying drone), the effective range of the submersible could be greatly extended. This is precisely what Navy researchers have developed and patented – a UAS deployed AUV.

There is a good reason why this drone flies near aircraft
Dgitial Trends | 04/11/2018
Ordinarily, you don't want drones going anywhere near planes.
A small flying machine colliding with a large flying machine — one with people on board — almost certainly isn't going to end well, which is why strict flying bans are in place around airports for quadcopters and other remotely controlled aerial devices.
